Richard K. McAden "Hondo" age 80 of Memphis, TN, passed away on February 9, 2022. He was born on July 24, 1941 to Henry Venoy and Virginia McAden. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 41 years Derry Lynn White McAden. Read Obituary
Hondo was a great classmate -- we were in the same homerooms each year and lived in the same neighborhood (Mignon for him (same street as my then-girlfriend) and Lyndale for me). Hondo was easy-going and good company. It was always good to see him at the reunions I could make, traveling from California. Our ranks are thinning. RIP, Hondo.
Barclay, Hondo's not so big older brother, was my best friend in the late '50s at CBC. Hondo attended Vandy to play football and joined ATO where I was also a member. We became good friends. Both my first wife and my present wife considered Hondo a good friend. I moved away and we didn't see each other very often. The last time we got together was before we moved back to Hawaii. Our daughter lived on N. McLean and Hondo lived to the west a few blocks.
He was a good friend, a true gentleman and will be missed by many. May he rest in peace.
