Richard C. Hayes' Obituary
Richard Cunningham Hayes passed away February 26, 2010 on his 85th birthday. He was a former member of Whitehaven United Methodist Church where he was active in many of their activities and is a current member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church and the Adult Bible Class. Dick attended Jacksonville Junior College and the University of Alabama and was a veteran of the Army Air Corps where he served as a pilot in the Pacific Theatre during WW II. He was retired from General Electric Company as a supervisor in the Memphis Lamp Plant after more than 30 years of service. Dick is survived by his wife of 61 years Mary Elizabeth Grinter Hayes; three daughters, Anne (Rusty) Lulloff, Carolyn Smith all of Memphis, Susan (David) Corum of Kennett Square, PA; brother, Lawrence B. Hayes of Crescent City, FL, and six grandchildren, Russell (Molly) Smith, Catherine Smith, Sam Corum, Warren Smith, Ben Corum and Tom Corum. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Monday, March 1, 2010, at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at Emmanuel United Methodist Church, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to Emmanuel United Methodist Church or the Church Health Center.
