Richard, my good friend, and across-the-street neighbor for more than 25 years, I am going to miss you so much. I very much enjoyed exchanging “sea stories” with you about our individual times in the U.S. Navy.
You were always so dependable to say that you would keep an eye on our house when I told you we’d be out of town, and you were truly a man of your word. I was most pleased to do the same for you when you were making one of your Nantucket trips or elsewhere.
I remember so well when you invited me over to see your newly completed model sailing vessel of which you were so justifiably proud. I was immensely impressed at your skill level in assembling something so beautiful.
I will always remember your ready smile and cheerful attitude in spite of the terrible adversity with which you were dealing. The world is a sadder place without you, my friend.
From one old sailor to another, may you always have “Fair Winds and Following Seas.” Rest in the Peace that you have earned many times over. “We have the watch now.”
Much love to your family, Gerald and Linda Miller
Richard was such a fine man of character — husband, father, friend. He was respected as a professional and leader throughout his career. Richard had a great sense of humor and loved being with people. We will miss him.
We always loved being with Richard. He was positive and filled with humorous stories. He was someone who made you feel happy, just to be around him. We will always treasure his smile, wit and delightful and fun stories. He was so happy with the love of his life, Bonnie. We will miss you, dear cousin. Our heartfelt prayers are with Richard’s family.
Love from Elizabeth and Horace Houston
I met Richard a short time ago. Even though he was not feeling well I will always remember the smile on his face and the positive outlook on life. He will be surely missed but never forgotten.

When we lived in Memphis, we were blessed to have the fun loving and gregarious Richard as our neighbor for over 2 decades. We shared much happiness and some sorrows but he was always the one who brought levity to the situation. A dedicated CFO and friend to the Huttons. A loving husband and father. We enjoyed many evenings around the fire on our gazebo with he and his wife, Bonnie.
We could always be assured he would bring an entertaining story to the table. We shall miss you, dear friend and the sparkle you brought to all our lives. Rest now...til we meet again. Brenda and Bob Kremser
Missing you already friend.. the world is a little smaller without you in it. Thank you for being such a light with that smile. I'll take good care of ol Richrad. Rest now.
Love, LJM
