Richard William Capocaccia's Obituary
Richard William Capocaccia, Born December 31, 1944 in Memphis, TN.
Beloved husband, father, and grandfather went to be with our Lord on Sunday, November 21, 2021. Age 76.
A devout Catholic, He was a long-time member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Bartlett, TN. Richard loved praying the Rosary daily.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ralph R. Capocaccia and Edith Mangialardi Capocaccia, his brother, Robert E. Capocaccia, grandparents, Natale and Catherina Capocaccia and Pietro and Albina Mangialardi.
Richard was a 1962 graduate of Catholic High School for Boys and William R. Moore School of Technology. At 9 years of age, Richard became a victim of the polio epidemic and experienced a life of challenges resulting from this disease. Although his ability to ambulate was diminished by this disease, he never let his limitations restrict his zest for life or ability to be successful.
Richard spent his career as a draftsman working for Day and Night Corporation, Carrier Corporation, International Harvester, and MLGW from which he retired in 1991.
Richard was devoted to his wife of 30 years, Angela Lucchesi Capocaccia and children Jason Richardson (Heidi) of Lowville, NY, Karen Richardson Campochiaro of Memphis, TN, and Mary Kathlene Richardson Cannon (Dewayne) of Gates, Tn.
Richard especially enjoyed his grandkids (Olivia, Sam, Cecilia, Mia, Amelia and Zoe) who affectionately referred to him as CoppaCoppa.
Richard also leaves his sisters-in-laws Mary Ann Capocaccia, Tish Lucchesi Montesi (Louis) and Denise Lucchesi. He also leaves behind a multitude of nieces and nephews who he enjoyed and supported in their development over the years. He was especially fond of his many neighbors and friends.
Services will be held Tuesday, November 30,2021 at St. Ann Catholic Church at 6529 Stage Road, Bartlett, TN. 38134. The visitation will start at 10 AM followed by The Rosary at 10:30 and Funeral Mass at 11.
Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery on Poplar Ave immediately following the service.
