Richard A. Blount's Obituary
Richard Blount, 60, passed away November 21, 2012. Above and beyond all things, Richard was a family man who always put his wife and children first. They meant everything to him and have always been a great source of pride and joy for him. Richard often expressed how fortunate he felt to have chosen taxation as his career and to have been a partner at a CPA firm, as it gave him the opportunity to meet many interesting people, something he truly enjoyed. An avid fan of Memphis sports, he enjoyed coaching for many years. Richard continued to playing basketball throughout his life. Mr. Blount leaves his wife of 28 years, Jan Blount; children Patricia, Laura, Richard Jr., and Alan. He leaves his parents Fern Pegg of Oxford, Miss., and Glen Blount (Kay) of Tupelo, Miss.; brothers Eldon Blount of Birmingham, Ala., and Stan Blount (Phyllis) of Memphis; and sister Mary Moreton (Derek). The family will receive friends Saturday, November 24, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Sunday, November 25, at 2:30 p.m. at Colonial Park United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
