Richard Warner Anderson's Obituary
Richard Warner Anderson, age 76, of Collierville, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, September 16, 2024, at Methodist University Hospital.
Born in Dayton, Ohio, he was the son of the late William Harold and Sue Radebaugh Anderson. He earned a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Aviation Technology from Purdue University in 1972. Richard began his career in Los Angeles, CA with Continental Airlines, working there from 1972 to 1979. In 1979, he moved his family to Memphis to work for FedEx and was the Manager of Maintenance and Reliability. He later became Director of Maintenance and Materiel for the Air Transport Association of America, in Washington, D.C., from 1999 to 2006. He then served as a senior consultant with EmpowerMX. He concluded as a Senior Reliability Program Specialist at FedEx. His more than 50 years in air transport reliability continues to have an industry-wide impact.
Ric was a long-time member of Central Church, Highpoint Church, and Grace Valley Church. He was also a proud Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America and a NASCAR enthusiast. His passion for history led him to become a founding member of the Sultana Historical Preservation Society.
Ric is survived by his beloved wife, Sarah Wendy Stout Anderson; his daughter, Meghan (Victor) Lyons of Collierville, Tennessee; his son, David (Jessica) Anderson of Memphis, Tennessee; and five cherished grandchildren.
A visitation will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Grace Valley Church, 10576 Collierville Road, Collierville, Tennessee, followed by a memorial service at 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Samaritan’s Purse.
