Kellems, Reggie's Obituary
Reggie Carl Kellems, of Collierville, Tennessee, passed away on December 23, 2024, at Baptist
East Hospital in Memphis after a two-month hospitalization. He was 82 years old.
Reggie was born to Chester and Onita Kellems in Blytheville, Arkansas and grew up in Steele,
Missouri. He graduated from Pemiscot High School and went on to build a life rooted in family
and agriculture. After marriage, Reggie (Daddy Kellems) and Jeanette (Momma Kellems)
resided in Greenville, Mississippi from the early 1960’s where Reggie farmed cotton, soybeans,
and wheat in the Mississippi Delta until his retirement in 2005. He dedicated his career to the
land he loved so much. In 2005, Reggie retired and he and his wife moved to Destin, Florida to
enjoy retirement. In 2013, they made their move to Collierville, Tennessee to be closer to family.
Reggie loved John Deere farm machinery, talking about farming, and riding around to look at
crops that farmers were growing in West Tennessee.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Richard Kellems of Greenville,
Mississippi. Reggie is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Jeanette Kellems; their children,
Carla Chamoun, Tammie Guerrero, and Skipper Kellems; eight grandchildren; and six
great-grandchildren. His legacy lives on through the family he cherished.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at Memorial Park Funeral Home
in Memphis, Tennessee. Visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m., followed by a graveside service at
2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research
Hospital in honor of Reggie's memory.
Reggie will be remembered for his dedication to his family and his work. May his memory bring
comfort to all who knew him.
