R.E."Bud" Hisky's Obituary
Rudolph (Bud) Hisky died peacefully on June 28, 2016. He was born February 14, 1924, to Raymond and Marie Hisky. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Eva Hisky Fagan Reed. “The Budman” was a life-long Memphian and graduated from CBHS in 1942. He was a World War II veteran who served in the China, Burma, India theatre with the U.S. Army Air Corps. He graduated from the American Academy of Art in Chicago. His entire career was in commercial art. He retired from the Commercial Appeal in 1990. He was married to Lore Heider (of blessed memory) in 1951 for 58 years. He was a founding member and president of the Art Director’s Club. He was also president of the Alpha Delta Sigma and the Memphis Scottish Society. Bud was a “pompous” drum major with the Wolf River Pipes and Drums. He was a founding member of St. Louis Catholic Church. He is survived by his 2 children, Greg (Susan) Hisky and Lorelei Scatamacchia. He leaves 5 grandchildren, Joseph (Ashley), Rosalyn and Hank Hisky, Vince and Keith Scatamacchia and 1 great-grandchild, Harper Hisky. We will miss the Budman’s sharp wit and never ending repertoire of jokes! We would like to thank the Village of Germantown for all their love and support. Visitation will be at St. Louis Catholic Church, Clunan Center from 5-7 pm, Thursday, June 30, with Rosary at 7pm. Funeral mass will be held on Friday, July 1 at 1:30 pm at St. Louis Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers please send all memorials to St. Louis Catholic Church, Msgr. Paul Clunan Endowment Fund, 203 S.
