Rebecca Lewis' Obituary
Rebecca Stroup Lewis, 86, passed away July 29, 2012 at Regional Hospital. She was born September 2, 1925 in McKenzie, TN to Marie Chance and Noel B. Stroup. She attended West Tennessee Business College and did secretarial until the birth of her children. She was a member of Colonial Baptist Church. She loved reading poetry, gardening, and animals of all kinds. She was also a member of the Memphis Zoo. She is survived by her sister, Nancy Browning; daughters, Lisa L. Hay (Tom) and Bethany Gullett (James); four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, William D. “Bill” Lewis. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m., Wednesday, August 1 and 9:30-10:30, Thursday, August 2 at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery. Graveside services will be 11 a.m., Thursday, August 2 at Memory Hill Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to your local humane society.
