Rebecca A. Crocker's Obituary
Rebecca Ann Baker Crocker passed from this life on Sunday, April 2, 2023, in Searcy, Arkansas, after a prolonged illness. Becky was born September 30, 1942, in Memphis, TN, to John Frank Baker and Julia Elizabeth Wilson Baker. She was their only child and was doted on by her loving family. Becky was a Memphis girl through and through. She attended Treadwell schools for many years, and graduated from Memphis Harding Academy in 1960. She grew up attending Coleman Ave. church of Christ, which was just down the street from her home.
Becky attended Freed-Hardeman College and Memphis State College. In 1963, she married Rady Carl Crocker, Jr., who lived around the block and attended the same church. They were married until Rady’s death in 2002. Their marriage was filled with lots of love and time with a large extended family. They raised 2 daughters, Lisa and Janet, and were wonderful parents.
Becky worked as an administrative assistant at several companies in the Memphis area, and retired from First American Bank/AmSouth. After retirement, she cared for her mother and mother-in-law in their later years. She enjoyed camping, reading, bird-watching, and making scrapbooks and cards. She had a beautiful alto voice and was active in choirs in both high school and college. Becky loved any British comedy or mystery series. Her favorite places to travel always included mountains - the Great Smoky Mountains, the Ozarks, and the Rocky Mountains.
Becky is survived by her daughters Lisa (Terry) Engel of Searcy, AR, and Janet (Andy) Patterson of Bartlett, TN; 5 grandchildren: Molly (Choudry Rehman) Patterson of Sherwood, AR, Drew (Marit) Patterson of Stavanger, Norway, Julia Rose Engel of Oklahoma City, OK, Stella Engel of Malibu, CA, and Amy (Josh) Fussell of Bartlett, TN; and 4 great-grandchildren: Kent and Milo Rehman of Sherwood, AR, Julia Patterson of Stavanger, Norway, and Addie Fussell of Bartlett, TN. She is also survived by a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends whom she considered family. She was preceded in death by her husband Rady, a stillborn daughter, her parents, and her beloved cat, Harley.
Mrs. Crocker's visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until the service time at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 8, 2023 at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the staff of Providence Assisted Living, Unity Medical Center 3 North staff, and Drs. Kelsey Reely and Mike Justus for their excellent care during her final days and months. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Becky’s memory to The House of Mews, 933 S.
