Reba grew up in rural west Tennessee during the depression and WWll in a family of farmers. She was successful in school and was proud to be the salutatorian of her senior class. She moved to Memphis in the early 50s where she eventually met her husband, got married in 1956 and raised a family. Once the children were old enough, she worked in two high school administrations in Memphis City Schools until retiring from White Station High School where she made many life long friends.
Reba was very active in her church, Colonial Baptist, and loved to sew for her family and friends. She sewed many clothes for her children and grandchildren as they grew up. She couldn’t sit in her chair without doing something with her hands. She cross-stitched, made many quilts and knitted many scarves & blankets.
Reba was dearly loved by her family and friends & will be greatly missed. A small family gravesite service for family members will be held at the cemetery on Wednesday, 8/18. A Celebration of Life service will be held Thursday, 8/19 at 11:00 am at Colonial Baptist Church.
