Read Bush's Obituary
On April 21, 2018, the Lord called home James Read Bush, a family dedicated, charismatic man. He was born on March 1, 1963. Read lived 55 years here on earth, surrounded by his wife of 23 years, Ronda Reynolds Bush and his beloved children, Baylor Read and Bryce Reynolds Bush. He graduated from Bay Springs High School where he was a very popular student athlete, excelling in football, basketball, baseball, and tennis. During Read’s senior year, he was awarded most valuable player in football, basketball, and baseball. He continued his football career at Jones Junior College as quarterback. He went on to graduate from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1986 with a bachelor’s degree in business, where he was a brother of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. Once a father, this passion for all things athletic carried over to coaching and cheering on his own children in all their sports endeavors. The height of his affection for the game was heard every Friday night as he poured out his love in loud cheers at each CBHS football game. When off the field and sidelines, Read had a special passion for the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but his most favorite hobby was spending time with his family and large community of friends. Read leaves behind his mother Louise Read Bush-Wynn; his sisters, Sonia Scoggin (Robert) and Nichole Kelly (Kevin). In addition, he leaves his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ruth and Sam Yeager; brother-in-law, Randy Reynolds (Nathalie); and several nieces and nephews. Read was preceded in death by his father, Jimmie Bush and his grandparents, Lambert and Mary Lou Read, Mac Myers, and George and Allene Reddoch Bush. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 25 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 26 at Hope Presbyterian Church. A celebration of life will be held immediately following the service at his home. The family suggests memorial donations be sent to Christian Brothers High School football program or a charity of the donor’s choice. Read was the perfect mix of loud, enthusiasm, sensitivity, hard work, southern charm, loyalty, and love. The best explanation of Read’s outlook on life was living large and loving big.Read’s tribute slideshow may be viewed here: https://www.tributeslides.com/tributes/show/JZ5RYZCXKG2FDGSWArrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave., Memphis, TN 38119 (901) 767-8930. “Celebrating Life… Behind the Stone Wall”.
