Raymond Stokes' Obituary
RAYMOND HUBERT STOKES, 87, of Memphis and Milan, TN passed away in his home October 11, 2013. He was a member of Elliston Baptist Church, a retired Lieutenant on the Memphis City Police Department, a U.S. Navy World War II veteran and the founding owner of the Radio Ranch. He was preceded in death by his wife Lois Chapel Stokes. He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Betty Hickey of Southaven, MS; a daughter and son-in-law Dianne and Butch Greer of Memphis, TN and Corinth, MS; two granddaughters, Amy Towles of Corinth, MS and Kayla Perry of Memphis, TN; a grandson, Mr. and Mrs. Joshua Greer of Cleveland, OH; three great-grandchildren, Mr. and Mrs. Dustin Gant of Biloxi, MS, Daniel Sauer of Corinth, MS and Averie Wilson of Memphis; one niece, two nephews, and two men he raised, Jim Townsend of Clarksville, TN and Robert Moore of Nashville, TN. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 15 from 5 – 7 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held Wednesday October 16 at 10:30 a.m. at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, send memorials to Elliston Baptist Church.
