Raymond Edward Mattingly's Obituary
Ray Mattingly, 64, passed away Sunday, January 9 at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, after a long battle with leukemia. The husband of Pam Maness Mattingly, he is also survived by his brother, Richard Mattingly (Pat), sons, Michael Mattingly and Mark Mattingly, daughter, Lorren Mattingly Wells; stepson, Paul Briggs; stepdaughter, Angela Briggs Russell; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Bill and Mary Mattingly. He was a State Farm Agent for 38 years, where he earned top service awards throughout his career. Born in Memphis, Ray was a graduate of both CBHS and CBC. An avid antique car enthusiast, over the years he was a member of the Memphis Classic Thunderbird Club, British Car Club, and Porsche Club. He also loved to work on projects of all types, and was a creative and talented craftsman. Visitation will be held at Memorial Park on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m., with services there on Friday at noon.
