Ranson Charles Rozelle's Obituary
Ranson Charles “Rozy” Rozelle, 95, passed away on January 23, 2011. He is survived by his wife, Margaret J. Henkel; daughters, Florence Beard (Larry) and Frances Welborn; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Rozy was born to Florence M. and Charles H. Rozelle on March 25, 1915 in Utica, NY. He graduated Wauchula High School in 1934. He served in the U.S. Army with the 3rd Calvary, 10th Armored, and 104th “Timber Wolves” Infantry Divisions during World War II. He saw combat in France, Belgium, and Germany and was awarded the Combat Infanty Badge, Bronze Star with two stars, Purple Heart, and European Theater Medal with two battle stars. Rozy married his wife, Margaret on March 5, 1944. He was a merchandise manager during the fifties, sixties, and seventies and was well known in the housewares, china, gifts, toys, and health and beauty aid markets, both in the U.S. and the Far East. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 27 at Memorial Park Cemetery’s Mausoleum Rotunda. The family requests memorials be sent to Immanuel Lutheran Church or School or MIFA.
