Randy Lee Sullivan's Obituary
Randy L. Sullivan, D.M.D., age 64 passed away peacefully on July 2, 2022, surrounded by his family and friends.
Dr. Sullivan was a dentist in the Southaven, MS area for 34 years. He dedicated his life to his practice and enjoyed his career. He was thankful for his office staff including Caitlin, Amber, and Sarah.
Randy was a devoted father and his greatest accomplishment was raising his daughters, Courtney and Ashley. His special recipe for cinnamon sugar toast will forever be missed. Randy loved his family very much and cherished spending time with his mother, daughter and grandchildren. Randy lived life to the fullest with boundless energy and made many happy memories; however, it would be a grave omission to not recognize his greatest heartbreak, the loss of his daughter Courtney. It brings us peace to know that as he departed this world, Courtney would be there to meet him.
He married his loving wife, Pam, in 2003. Randy was a wonderful husband providing unconditional love and support. They enjoyed spending time together in Arkansas and looked forward to the many adventures ahead. His hugs and kisses will be missed.
Randy was fortunate to have several close friends. Carol and Henry Rather, Walt Carnahan, Richard Williams and Mike Hubbert. Henry, Walt and Richard, Randy loved hunting with you and appreciated your counsel. Thank you for always being there for him. Carol, Randy loved your cooking, especially the strawberry cake.
More recently Randy looked forward to fishing the Norfork and White River with his friends Kenneth Harvell, and Gavin and Drew Turner.
Being an avid hunter and fisherman, he enjoyed reading Nash Buckingham, and would have most certainly agreed with the author who wrote, “The best long range shotgun load to have in one’s boat for mallards is a fine retriever.” Randy was lucky enough to have owned not one, but several fine sporting dogs including Butch, Maggie, Katie, Weezer, Rosie and Max. Some were better hunters than others, but he loved them all. When Max left this world earlier this year, Randy, who had owned dogs his entire life, said he did not want another dog after Max. Perhaps he somehow knew he would soon reunite with the whole pack.
Lastly, in his spare time Randy added to his ever-growing supply of hunting and fishing stuff. Given the sheer volume it was clear that Randy expected to live for many decades to come.
Despite his love of life, his time has come, reminding us that our time in this beautiful world is precious.
Randy is survived by his wife Pam, his mother Allene, his daughter and son-in-law, Ashley and Jason Berryhill, son-in-law, Robert Hill and 3 granddaughters, Madison Hill, Gabrielle Berryhill and Grace Berryhill. He was preceded in death by his daughter Courtney Hill, his father, Melvin Sullivan, and his brothers Mike and Kenny Sullivan.
Randy’s memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2022, at Memorial Park Funeral Home located at 5668 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee 38119. Visitation begins at 1:00 pm with the service following at 2:00 pm.
Although flowers are appreciated, in lieu of flowers, please be kind to someone. Hug a loved one. Call a friend you haven’t spoken to recently. Forgive someone.
