Randy LaPlante III's Obituary
Randall (Randy) George LaPlante III, proud father of 2, of Bartlett, TN, died at his home on September 3, 2024.
He was preceded in death by his father, Randall LaPlante, Jr and grandson Devin. He is survived by his mother and step-father, Linda and Henry Barnhardt, sister Karen LaPlante French, nephews Travis French (Heather) and Trevor French (Meredith), sons Randall LaPlante IV (Mitzie) and Daniel LaPlante (Emily), 4 grandchildren, James, Kelly, Davis and Ella, and 2 great-grandchildren, Ava and Eliana.
Randy was a dedicated father and grandfather, leaving a legacy of love, the wisdom he imparted, and an innate passion for “life on the lake” at Pickwick. He was a big personality, funny and witty, who brought joy to every room he entered. He was also a nurse at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, touching countless young lives over his decades of service. Randy also took great pride in his journey to recovery through AA where he touched many more lives during his years as a sponsor and advisor to dozens starting their own journey to sobriety.
Known, over the years, as “everybody’s Uncle Randy”, his spirit and charm will be missed by many. But, in this time, we will honor his spirit and his faith by praying, ourselves, for peace and serenity.
Services will be held on Sunday, September 8th, 2024 at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5668 Poplar Ave, Memphis, TN, 38119. Visitation will be at 1pm, memorial service at 2pm.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Randy’s beloved St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
