Randy Boone's Obituary
Randy Lee Boone passed away peacefully on November 26, 2024, surrounded by his loving wife and children. He was born on Tuesday, October 22, 1957, to Johnny Robinson Boone and Roxie Ann Boone in Memphis, TN. In 1977, he met the love of his life, Glenda, and from that moment on they were inseparable for the next 46 years.
Randy was a successful contractor and owner of Boone and Sons, Inc. throughout his adult life until his retirement. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, and a devout Christian. He had a love for motorcycles and cars, and he enjoyed building and fixing anything. Teaching others was a passion of his, and most importantly, he had a deep and unwavering love for his wife, children, and grandchildren.
As a strong, kind, loving, and supportive man, Randy's knowledge and guidance served as the foundation for his family. He inspired everyone who met him, embodying the principles of strength, faith, hard work, and perseverance. His love and presence filled any room he entered, bringing laughter and happiness to those around him.
For the last two years of his life, Randy lived with leukemia and a progressing spinal disease, scoliosis. He faced these challenges with remarkable grace, bravery, and strength. Each day, he maintained his faith in the Lord and a determination not to let his illness prevent him from enjoying life. He fought the good fight until he was called home by the Lord. He passed away peacefully, knowing without a doubt he would be in Heaven and was deeply loved by his wife, who was his best friend, as well as his children, family, and friends.
Randy is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Glenda Boone; daughter and son-in-law Amber and John Webb; son Ryan Boone; and four grandchildren: Hunter, Aubree, Lainey, and Mason. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Teresa and Tommy Parish, and numerous sisters and brothers-in-laws whom he loved very deeply. Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny Robinson Boone and Roxie Ann Boone, as well as his beloved grandparents who helped raise him, John and Hattie Lyon.
Visitation will be held at 12:30 PM on Sunday, December 1, 2024, at Trafalgar Village Baptist Church, located at 6161 Summer Avenue, Memphis, TN followed by a memorial service from 1:30-2:30 PM. The graveside service will be at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery located on 5668 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, TN. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude or Shiners Hospitals for Children.
