Randal E Leslie (Randy), 48, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, April 5, 2009.Randy was born to Eugene and Marilyn Leslie on June 6, 1960 in Union City, TN. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Lambuth University and his Master of Divinity from Memphis Theological Seminary. He was ordained to the ministry in the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in 1998. He most recently served the Mt. Carmel Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Laconia, TN and the Chandler Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Chandler, IN. Randy was employed by Memphis Theological Seminary in several roles, last as Director, Technologies and Facilities. Randy’s role at the seminary went far beyond routine operations; he was also a friend and mentor to faculty, staff and students. Prior to his ordination, Randy was youth minister at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Jackson, TN; Administrator of Camp Clark Williamson, Humboldt, TN; owner of Northside Texaco, Jackson, TN and Randy’s Candy Company, Humboldt, TN. Randy earned his Eagle Scout at the age of 15.He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Cheryl King Leslie; son and daughter in law, Joshua and Katie Vidal Leslie; daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Travis Dotson; parents Eugene and Marilyn Leslie; brother Max Leslie; sisters Kathryn Leslie and Terri Leslie.A Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2009 at 11:00am at Lindenwood Christian Church, 2400 Union Avenue, Memphis, TN followed by a meal and fellowship.In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to be made in Randy’s name to Memphis Theological Seminary, 168 E. Parkway South, Memphis, TN 38104.
