The world lost a great man and Heaven gained a great one. I worked with Ralph for many years at Davidson in Memphis. No matter the circumstance, Ralph could always be counted on to bring a sense of calm and a great smile to tackle the problem. He was the heart of Davidson for years. You could not spend an hour with Ralph without hearing him sing the praises of Mary Anne, his kids and grandkids. He once told me how much he loved retirement because he could jump in the car when Lynne called and drive over to Mississippi State to watch his grandson play baseball. Davidson is a better place because of Ralph and we are all better people for knowing him and being able to call him a friend. Sending love and prayers to his family. May he rest in peace.
