Ralph Berl Stagg Jr.'s Obituary
Ralph Berl Stagg, Jr., born on September 19, 1947, in Memphis, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at the age of 76. He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Geneva Stagg, his children, Wesley Stagg (Heather) and Laura Laster (Scott), and his grandson, Harrison Laster.
Ralph dedicated his career to Smith & Nephew, where his kindness and generosity left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He was an avid softball player, duck hunter, and antique collector, with a particular passion for vintage marbles and Laurel and Hardy memorabilia. Ralph’s love for cooking barbecue led him to compete in the Memphis in May BBQ competition for 39 consecutive years. He cherished lake trips and golfing adventures with dear friends and family and found joy in being a zoo docent, visiting zoos across the U.S.
Services will be held at Memorial Park on August 7th, starting with a visitation at noon, followed by a service at 1 p.m.
Ralph’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
