Ralph B. Stagg, Sr's Obituary
Ralph B. Stagg, Sr., 86, of Memphis, died July 26, 2009 at his home, after a long courageous battle with multiple cancers.He was born in Birmingham, Al and raised in Memphis. Ralph was retired superintendent of Kimberly Clark Corp., member of Ridgeway Baptist Church, a life Mason of University Lodge 722, devoted Scout leader for many years and a WW II Army veteran with the 738th Tank Battalion, receiving the Purple Heart and three Battle Stars for action during the Battle of the Bulge. He was a loving and kind father and grandfather and his humor will be greatly missed by family and friends.He was preceded in death by his parents E.L. Stagg, Sr. and Rosa Routt Stagg; his brother, E.L. Stagg, Jr.; wife, Bettye Edwards Stagg of 40 years and daughter, Sandra Elizabeth Stagg.Ralph is survived by his son, Ralph B. Stagg, Jr. (Geneva); grandchildren, Wesley Stagg and Laura Stagg Laster (Scott);and his devoted and faithful friend of many years, Mary Noland of Jackson, Ms and her family.Visitation will be held 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at Memorial Park Funeral Home with the service being held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 29, 2009, also at Memorial Park Riverside Chapel. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.The family request that memorials be sent to Ridgeway Baptist Church or Odyssey Hospice.
