Ralph Hammer's Obituary
Ralph Edward Hammer, 88, of Germantown, Tennessee passed away after a long illness on July 21, 2016. Mr. Hammer was born to Ralph William Hammer and Mary Wehner Hammer in Dayton, Ohio on April 26, 1928. He graduated from Chaminade Julienne Catholic High School and attended the Dayton Art Institute before graduating from the University of Nebraska. Mr. Hammer was a veteran of the United States Air Force and retired from the Sanyo Corporation where he was an industrial designer. After retirement, Mr. Hammer enjoyed time spent with his family, traveling, designing homes, wood carving, painting and all things having to do with airplanes.In addition to his parents, Mr. Hammer was predeceased by his sister, JoAnn Pillietteri. He leaves his loving wife of 53 years, Genevieve Barkulis Hammer, a daughter, Kathy (Tim) Verner of Germantown, two grandsons, Taylor and Nick Verner as well as a sister, Mary Klemm of Dayton, Ohio.Services for Mr. Hammer will be Monday, July 25, 2016 at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Poplar Avenue with visitation from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM with the funeral service beginning immediately after.
