Ralph Coulter, Jr.'s Obituary
Ralph Coulter Jr, 84, of Southaven, MS, passed away on December 1, 2010, at his home. He leaves his loving wife of 17 ½ years Marguerite G. Coulter, his daughter Amaryllis Dysart, his sons Ronnie Coulter and his wife Bel, Michael Coulter and his wife Joni, his step-daughters Linda Thurman, JoAnn McManners and her husband Wayne, Margo Walcott and her husband Rich, Nancy A Harborth and her husband Bill, his step-son Kevin S. McGee and his wife Joanne, fifteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 5-8 on Monday, December 6, 2010, with funeral services to be held on Tuesday, December 7, at 2:30, all at Memorial Park Funeral Home. At the age of 15 after an injury to his father Ralph took over the family farm planting and plowing over a hundred acres with a mule by himself, and thru all this and a meager education manage to have a very important role in society and business. When in the 11th grade and a t the age of 16 he was helping build aircraft for the military supervising 20 people building Studebaker engines. He later left and entered into the Navy and served through WWII and the Korean War. After coming out of the service he joined the TVA and helped start up several electrical plants. He later was chosen to join the Atomic Power Training Program where he helped with the start up of Atomic Programs. While working he was spotted by RAMCO Oil Company was chosen to come to work with them where he helped oversee the plants in Saudi Arabia for more than 12 years. After his retirement he returned to the US to enjoy his life with his wife LaNell and his family.Ralph was also a longtime member of Second Presbyterian Church.
