Prabhakar Parikh's Obituary
Prabhakar Parikh passed away at the age of 80, on July 2, 2018. He was son of Natwarlal and Shardaben Parikh. He is survived by Rohini, his wife of 54 years. He leaves behind a son, Salil; daughter-in-law, Sonali; daughter, Lina; and son-in-law, Paul. He was a loving grandfather to Roshan and Megha. He also leaves behind his brother, Haren and sisters, Sheela, Hema, Varsha, Bindu, and Jolly. He came to the United States from India in 1960 to complete a master’s degree in structural engineering. He moved to Memphis in 1961. He was well loved in the Indian community. Prabhakar was a very active volunteer at MIFA, St. Francis Hospital, Cancer Society of Memphis, Galloway Nursing home and Wonders Exhibits. He was a loving and a caring person. He touched many lives in Memphis and beyond, with his selfless eagerness to help. Prabhakar loved music and was a prominent harmonium player in many music gatherings. He will be dearly missed. Services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, July 5 at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please donate to MIFA or charity of choice.
