Polly Smith's Obituary
Polly A. Smith was born on March 7, 1926 and went to be with our heavenly Father on November 28, 2016. She was 90 years old and a resident of The Memphis Jewish Home, where she received excellent and loving care. Polly retired from Dobbs House restaurants and later from Kroger. Her husband, John Dixon Smith, preceded Polly in death. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Yearwood (John) and her grandchildren, Erin Ryan (Terry), Cynthia Yearwood, Shannon Hart and Christi Kubis (Michael); and her sister, Rose Baker, all of Memphis. Eleven great-grandchildren (Kelsey, Allyson, John Dixon, Victoria, Anna Grace, Patrick, Tiarrah, Jacob, McKinley Lucas, & Henry) who were the light of her life also survive her. A graveside service for family and friends will be held on Friday, December 2 at 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery 5668 Poplar Ave, Memphis TN 38119. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home beginning at 9:30 a.m. before proceeding to the gravesite. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Oasis of Hope, c/o Hope Church, 8500 Walnut Grove Rd, Memphis 38018. The Oasis of Hope ministry (http://www.oasis-of-hope.com) is dear to Polly and her family as Oasis strives to improve the quality of life and rebuild the community where Polly and her siblings grew up.
