Phyllis Lee Koen's Obituary
Phyllis Lee Koen, 86 years old, of Memphis, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2026. She gained her angel wings with Baptist Trinity Hospice at the Baptist Reynolds Hospice House in Collierville, TN.
She was a beloved sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her brother Edwin Koen (Priscilla), daughter Eileen Prater, granddaughter Samantha Hartsfield, and great granddaughter Chloe Hartsfield. She joins her parents Phillip and Eileen Koen, and beloved son Michael Ray Prater in heaven.
Phyllis was a beautician who owned her own salon, New Dimensions, in Bartlett, TN for 30 years (1976-2006). She touched many lives throughout her career from teaching newly graduated hair stylists out of hair school, encouraging and supporting her employees with the “Yes you can, attitude.”, and countless customers who began as young children and eventually brought their families to “the shop”. She was known for her infectious laugh, energy and personality. She was always the life of the party and will be truly missed.

A graveside service will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, in the Overton Suite, on Thursday, April 16, 2026, beginning at 1:00 PM
