Philip Edwin Toombs' Obituary
Philip Edwin Toombs, 66 of Barlett passed away on Friday March 22, 2024, after a long battle with a chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
He was born to parents Aubrey and Ila Toombs on May 7,1957 in Memphis TN. Phil graduated from Treadwell High School in 1976. Phil was a member of the Highland Presbyterian Church.
He will be remembered for his love of fishing and history. Whether casting lines on serene lakes or exploring historical landmarks, he found solace and joy in every moment spent amidst nature's beauty and the echoes of the past. Though his health limited his activity these last years, Phil’s love of history still ran deep as he enjoyed watching documentaries and classic TV shows.
Philip is survived by his mother Ila Toombs of Bartlett, TN, his sons Jeremy (Jill) Toombs of Tacoma, WA, Michael (Ali) Toombs of Benton City, WA, and Matthew Toombs of Bartlett, TN as well as grandchildren Abigail and Nathaniel of Benton City WA. Phil was preceded in death by his father Aubrey Toombs, brother Kim Toombs and sister Janice Kenton.
Although his physical presence may be gone, his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who were privileged to know him. He will be deeply missed by all. May he rest in peace.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, April 6 at 1:00 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home followed by a graveside service at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery.
