Dr. Philip Dubin's Obituary
Philip Dubin was born on July 4, 1926 in Brooklyn, NY, the youngest of 9 siblings. As a child he was rambunctious, gregarious and showed a skill not for avoiding trouble but for getting out of it. He served in the armed forces in World War II with duty in the Philippines. After his honorable discharge from the Army, he obtained his undergraduate degree and then received his medical degree in Switzerland. He married Kathleen Martin in 1961 and practiced pediatrics in Queens until 2001. Through a long and happy life, he was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and pediatrician. He was married to Kathleen for 62 years until they were briefly separated by her death in February of this year. He is predeceased by son Patrick, who died in infancy, and his daughter Janette (married Tom Reilly). He is survived by daughters Patricia Dubin (married Jim Schneider) and Anne Dubin (married David Rosenthal) as well as grandchildren William Reilly, Emily Rosenthal, Maggie Rosenthal and Jane Schneider. He was a kind and generous man who cared for and helped numerous members of his family, and especially doted on his grandchildren. He died on April 18, 2023 at the age of 96 years.
His service will be 2:15 p.m,, Thursday, April 20, 2023 at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave. Memphis TN. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
