Peter Stephen Knoop, 76, passed away peacefully on October 23 following a brief but courageous battle with cancer.Pete was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on October 17, 1941 to Kathleen and Nelson Knoop. Following his graduation from Read Obituary
So sad to read of Pete leaving us. He had many old friends from his high school days at Glenbrook High in Northbrook Illinois. He is remembered fondly by us all especially Del Reisener. Also, Joanne for the late Rocky Voltz. RIP old friend, our best to your children and grandchildren. God bless.
Dear Peter,Jennifer and Family,It is with a heavy heart that Mark and I will not be able to be with you today. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. I will always remember Pete’s devotion to Judy.His love for her was so real,that it took my breath away. Peter and Jennifer,your Dad was one in a million. In the coming days,weeks,and a life time we will remember Pete,our father,and our brother with fond memories. May God’s love give us all the strength to endure.
To the precious family of Pete and Judy. I enjoyed working with Pete and Judy over the years. They loved to travel and experience what life had to offer. They were adventuresome and loved all the many places they went , from Peru, Europe , New York, all the cruises , and Africa. We would sit in the lodges at night in Africa and marvel at what God had done when he created all the animals and how “it worked” . I feel Pete and Judy are together again looking at us all , knowing they loved life and lived life . Two special people ,and their families ,I have been privileged to meet and serve. I am always reminded by the saying ” we are who we are by the books we read and the people we meet.” John and I are better for having known Pete and Judy , and his family. May they both rest in peace together in Jesus’s arms . They are missed. Condolences to all the grieving family and God’s special Blessings upon each .
My family met Pete and Judy two years ago at Gardens of Germantown memory care where my mother and Judy lived. During that time we got to know Pete and Judy well. Pete was always so sweet to Judy and loved her so much, and Ms. Judy always had the biggest and brightest smile in the room. During our visits we enjoyed swapping stories with Pete, hearing of the adventures he and Judy experienced over the years. They were a great couple and lived life to the fullest.I am deeply saddened to hear of Pete’s passing. He was such a kind, giving man that always put others ahead of himself.Big prayers to his family.
My deepest condolences to my cousins, family, and the friends of my Uncle Pete. I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to travel through France with him and Judy years ago. He was so warm and genuine, fun and giving, and although I did not know him well prior to this trip, he made me feel like family right away. My Uncle Pete impressed upon me the need to be open to exploration and to embrace the love and laughter of life. His relationship with my Aunt Judy seemed emblematic of real, true love. I was inspired by their love. I immediately aspired to know life the way they did. Uncle Pete was generous with me without obligation, and I can see in my mom that he was a great brother, ally, comfort, and friend–who will be sorely missed and forever cherished.
