Peggy A. Sears' Obituary
Peggy A. Sears, 85 years young, of Memphis, Tn., passed away on June 6th, 2026, surrounded by family and loved ones.
Born on February 12th, 1941, in Judsonia, Arkansas, Peggy was the daughter of Oneda Miller and Billy Woodruff. Throughout her life, she was known for her strength, determination, kindness, sharp wit, unique humor, work ethic, faith and dedication to her children.
Peggy devoted many years to the Memphis educational system. She was an accomplished and a well-recognized Special Education Teacher, Principal and Supervisor for the Memphis City Schools Special Education department. Outside of work, she was a talented artist in pastels and ceramics. She enjoyed reading, family, and bragging about her children.
She is survived by her children Leslee Paige Sears, Stacey Lynn Sears, Edwin Robert Sears Jr. and his wife Carla Cloversettle Sears. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, and two brothers, George Allen and Gary Woodruff.
Visitation for Ms. Peggy will be held from 1:00 Pm to 2:00 PM in the Riverside Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin, following visitation, at 2:00 PM. The committal service will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Peggy’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
