Peggy Sibley Heard's Obituary
Peggy Sibley Heard, 93 passed away at Harbor Chase on April 13, 2024.
She lived a full and active life enjoying her independence and her family and friends.
Peggy was preceded in death by the love of her life and husband of 57 years, Jack Heard.
She was born in Adamsville, Tennessee on February 16, 1931 to Lois and Grover Sibley. Graduating from the University of Memphis, she soon married Jack and began teaching at Berclair Elementary.
She was a member of Princeton Park Garden Club, Order of the Eastern Star and Germantown United Methodist Church.
Oak Hall was Peggy’s home of employment and family for 35 years. She loved her customers and was so dedicated to them all.
She is survived by her son, John Heard III (Terry) and daughter, Holly H. Langenfelder and one sister, Kay Haynie (Jim)
Other survivors include her grandchildren, Tony Heard (Sarah), Abby Nieman (Brad), Kate Steedley (Cameron) and Rachel Ketcham (J.P.) and seven great grandchildren with one more on the way.
Affectionately known as “Granny” to most of us, she will be remembered for her kindness, generosity and always putting others before herself.
Memorial donations can be made to Christian Brothers High School.
A Celebration of Life will service will be held on Thursday, April 18th at Germantown United Methodist Church. Visitation at 11:00am with service to follow at 12:00 noon.
