Peggy Parham Donoho Kirkpatrick's Obituary
Peggy Parham Donoho Kirkpatrick, 90, passed away in Denver on November 27, 2014 after a long illness. Peggy was born in Gallatin, TN to Richard and Lucy (Parham) Donoho. She grew up in Columbia, TN where she went to Central High School and was a majorette with the marching band. Peggy was married to Robert Read Kirkpatrick of Memphis, TN for 45 years before he passed away in 1990. She graduated from George Peobody College In Nashville. Peggy and Robert were married following his return from England after he was wounded in World War II. They lived in Nashville while he attended Vanderbilt University and moved to Memphis after graduation. Peggy was a homemaker as well as participating in many activities. She was president of the Rose Garden Club, president of the Ruth Connell Circle of Kings Daughters and was one of the founders of the Carol Circle of Kings Daughters. She was a member of the Kennedy Book Club and Whitehaven Presbyterian Church. In 1980, Peggy and Robert moved to Germantown where they were members of Germantown Presbyterian Church. In 2000, Peggy and her daughter’s family moved to Denver. She is survived by two sons, Joe Thompson Kirkpatrick of Memphis and Robert Read Kirkpatrick, Jr. (Mary) of Aurora, CO, her daughter, Karen Kirkpatrick Williams of Denver, six grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Memorial Service will be Saturday, December 13, 2014. Visitation will be before the service at 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. at Germantown Presbyterian Church with the service there at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Memorial Park in Memphis. The family requests that any memorials be sent to Germantown Presbyterian Church or a charity of the donor’s choosing.
