Peggy Dennie's Obituary
Peggy Ball Dennie of Memphis, Tennessee, 87, passed from this earth on February 17, 2014, at Methodist Hospice Residence.Peggy was born in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Van and Lucille Ball. After traveling the country with her family, they finally settled in Memphis, where she graduated from Treadwell High School at the age of 16 years.She immediately entered secretarial school and after being credentialed, moved to the Los Angeles area where she began working at the Long Beach shipyards during World War II. She married Jack Dennie, Jr. in 1948 and she began working at the Millington Naval Air Station as a court stenographer and secretary to the Judge Advocate General. She worked in that capacity for 40 years until her retirement in 1987. She was a member of Mullins United Methodist Church for over 60 years.Peggy was devoted to her family and was cherished by all who knew her. Her light and love for those for whom she cared will be missed more than words can express.She is survived by her daughter, Suzanne Dennie Shore of Las Vegas, Nevada, son, Michael Andrew Dennie and grandson, Thomas Michael Dennie, both of Memphis, Tennessee.Visitation will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Poplar from 5:00 – 7:00pm Thursday, February 20, with services on Friday, February 21 at 2:30 p.m.The funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave. Memphis, TN 38119, (901)767-8930, “Behind the Stone Wall”
