Peggie McCoy Robinson's Obituary
Peggie McCoy Robinson, age 90, passed away peacefully March 27, 2023 after an illness of several months. She had a strong faith in her Lord. Peggie was the first child of Reid and Jewel McCoy. She was born March 12, 1933 in Trenton, Tennessee at the home of her maternal grandparents. She is survived by her sister, Carolyn Wood (Gene) and was preceded in death by her brother Reid McCoy Jr., (Dawn).
The McCoys moved from Memphis, Tennessee to Booneville, Mississippi where Peggie met the love of her life, Bill Robinson, at age 12. They were married for 67 wonderful years, until he preceded her in death March 4, 2022. They had two children, Cyndi Robinson Cole (Dane) and Cliff Robinson (Cathy). Peggie poured love, faith, and fun into her family including her grandchildren; Kyle Cole (Amy), Whitney Levy (Andrew), Will Robinson (Emily), Breck Robinson, Alexis Cole, and Elle Northrip (Devin). Peggie leaves seven adoring great grandchildren; Hardy, Henley, Hudson, Ford, Kell, Caroline, and Evelyn. Peggie made many happy memories for her family as well as spending years as a teacher and volunteer for Maternal Welfare League and King’s Daughters. Her favorite job was being a trophy wife of 67 years. She was creative and enjoyed numerous hobbies with decorating being her favorite.
Peggie’s homegoing will be celebrated with a graveside service 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 1, 2023 at Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers her desire was donations to Ole Miss Campus Outreach; 302 Windsor Drive N., Oxford, MS 38655.
