Paula Holliday's Obituary
Paula Vollack Holliday, 61, of Cordova, TN died in peace on Saturday October 3. Paula was born in Hackensack, NJ, daughter of Robert and Carol Vollack and sister to Lisa Byrne (Tom), Donna Wright (Ricky), and Krista Bubp (Rob), all surviving. She will be dearly missed by her husband Dr. James Newton Holliday and four children Lauren C. Burleson (Randall) of Cordova, Mary Ann Upton (Zebediah) of Foxboro, MA, James N. Holliday II of Memphis, and John R. Holliday of Memphis. Additionally, she is survived by four young grandchildren Haley Cole, Holly Cole, Hadley Burleson and James Zachary Upton. Paula dedicated her life to those she loved, supporting her family foremost as a mother and homemaker and ultimately as Office Manager of Holliday Vision Clinic. In the face of adversity, most palpably in her long struggle with cancer, Paula was strong, brave and resolute. She inspired and inspires everyone around her. Despite her own situation, she has been a constant source of support and a harbor of loving care for her family and friends. Paula lives on in her children’s and grandchildren’s sweetness, creativity, joy, and sharp senses of humor. Visitation will be 5 to 7pm Tuesday October 6th, 2015 at the Memorial Park Funeral Home & Cemetery. The funeral service will be 2pm Wednesday October 7th, 2015 in the Chapel at Hope Presbyterian Church (8500 Walnut Grove Rd). Burial will follow immediately at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Hope Presbyterian Church, in memory of Paula Vollack Holliday.Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave. Memphis, TN 38119, “Celebrating Life… Behind the Stone Wall” ..
