Patti H. Rowland's Obituary
Patti H. Rowland, age 77, passed away August 29, 2019.At the end of life, what really matters is not what we bought, but what we built; not what we got, but what we shared; not our competence, but our character; and not our success, but our significance. To live a life full of love and a life that matters. This is the life that Patti lived. Patti Houston Rowland was born May 29, 1942 to Pat and Doris Houston in McKenzie, Tennessee. She passed away on August 29, 2019 in Germantown, Tennessee due to health complications. Never concerned for herself but always looking out for those she loved. She was fiercely loyal to her family and loved to brag on her two sons, Jamie and Randy, not to mention her five grandchildren. Patti was a faithful Elvis fan, initially sneaking into Graceland with her friend to get a peek at the king, but ultimately becoming a regular at Elvis outings and hangouts at the mansion. She married the love of her life, James A. Rowland, on March 9, 1962, and soon after started her family. Working at Trojan Luggage Company for many years, Patti retired early enough to enjoy taking care of her grandbabies once they came along. Never having daughters of her own, she opened her heart to the two women her sons married, always thinking of things they might want or need when she was out on one of her shopping trips. She loved cheering the Tigers on from her usual spot in the kitchen. Patti spent her life focused on the ones she loved, and her family meant the world to her.Patti is survived by her husband, James Allen Rowland, sons James Patrick Rowland (Jaqueline Rowland spouse) and Randall Allen Rowland (Lynn Rowland spouse).
