Patsy Elizabeth Burnside's Obituary
Patsy Elizabeth Burnside was born in Helena, Arkansas on November 12, 1952. She went to be with her Savior on December 8, 2024.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles David Long and her mother Peggy Iness DePoyster Long, her beloved husband, John Carroll Burnside of 47 years, stepfather, Mack Hopkins, stepmother, Ailene Hopkins and stepbrother, Michael Hopkins.
She has two sons and one daughter: John Carroll II (Jeanine) of Hernando, MS, David Bryan (Libby) of Hernando, MS and Elizabeth Michelle Jackson (Benjamin) of Southaven, MS. She also leaves three sisters and one brother: Shirley Jean Perez of Fort Smith, AR, Mae Emma Correll of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Peggy Ann Sutterfield of Fort Smith, AR, Robert Lee Long of Ruskin, FL and two stepsisters, Michelle Hopkins Smith of Arkansas and Cheryl Pope-Fox of Wellington, OH. She has five grandchildren: Trey Burnside, Crockett Burnside, Kathryn Burnside, Kaitlyn Burnside, and Lennon Burnside and many nieces and nephews.
She went to Mid-South Bible College in Memphis, TN. She was a member of Central Church in Collierville, TN. She loved to cook, watch John Wayne movies, be around her grandchildren, and she was a day one Memphis Grizzlies fan. She worked at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital for 42 years.
Services for Patsy will be held on Monday, December 16, 2024 at 11:00am in the Fireside Chapel at Memorial Park Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for visitation an hour prior to the service starting at 10:00am. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Lenn Correll will officiate. In Memory of Mom, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
