Patsy Jane Brown's Obituary
Patsy Jane Brown, beloved wife of Kent “Ken” Brown, passed away on January 17, 2018, at the age of 74, while at West Marion Community Hospital, Ocala, Florida, after a difficult battle with cancer. She was born in Tyronza, Arkansas on October 25, 1943. She lived in Memphis, Tennessee, where she met Ken on a blind lunch date accompanied with Ken’s co-worker. It was love at first sight. They were married two years later on November 26, 1988. Jane became step-mom “Mom” to Ken’s three children from a previous marriage, each living with them at different times. She is survived by her husband, Ken Brown; step-children, Allen Brown, Mandy Coffey, and Scott Brown; and 9 grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Isaac McMullin, Jr. (Mary Ann) of Amory, Mississippi and Larry McMullin (Carolyn) of Trumann, Arkansas; sisters, Wilma (Jen) Johnson of Haughton, Louisianna and Myra (Kathy) Condra (Bobby) of Trumann, Arkansas; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Isaac and Lela McMullin; brothers, Glen and Bill; and a sister, Juanita Germany. Jane and Ken were members of The First United Methodist Church of Dunnellon, Florida for many years. Jane was an active volunteer at the Rainbow Springs State Park in Dunnellon, Florida. Jane took training to be a nurse like her sisters, but decided that was not for her. A prior member in toast masters, Jane always founds someone to talk to anywhere she went, making many friends along the way. Jane worked as an Inside Sales Rep for U.S. Steel in Memphis, Tennessee until they closed her department. She then worked as an event coordinator for International Paper, Memphis, Tennessee, where she retired. Gardening and sewing were Jane’s favorite hobbies along with taking walks along the beach and visiting the park where she volunteered. Her favorite travel destination was Ireland and any outlet mall. The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 27 from 12:00-1:00 p.m., with the service to immediately follow at 1:00 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Avenue Memphis, Tennessee.
