Patricia Spooner Turner's Obituary
Patricia Spooner Turner, known to those who loved her as Patty, PT or PT Ice Baby, of Memphis, Tennessee passed away surrounded by family and friends on July 21, 2024, at the age of 77.
Patricia was born in Memphis, Tennessee September 21, 1946. She is preceded in death by her husband Douglas Lee Turner, parents Michael Joseph Spooner and Rose Marie Wynn Spooner of Memphis.
She is survived by two daughters Kellie Turner Jones (Kevin) of Indianapolis, Indiana, Kimberly Turner Koett (Kenneth) of Decatur, Georgia, and two grandsons Turner Scott Koett and Harrison Anthony Jones. Her sister Judith Spooner Benedetti of Loudon, Tennessee and brother Michael Wynn Spooner of Strasburg, Colorado.
PT was a devoted wife, mother, Nan, sister, friend, neighbor, and fan of Elvis Presley. In her youth she was a Girl Scout, and she became a Girl Scout Troop Leader who impacted the lives of many young ladies. She graduated from St. Thomas High School (also known as St. Thomas Academy) and enjoyed the fellowship of the monthly reunion luncheons and regular reunion festivities. In her career as an executive assistant, she supported many teammates who she adored like family. She was a donut champion in her 86 yellow Corvette. PT enjoyed the thrill of a good bargain hunt. She had the right bag, shoes, jewelry, and outfit for every occasion. She was a beautiful person, inside and out, and never met a stranger.
PT leaves behind a multitude of family and friends who will miss her dearly.
Visitation will be held on Thursday evening July 25 from 5-7 p.m. at Memorial Park on Poplar. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 26 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Germantown, Tennessee, with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
