Patricia Riikola's Obituary
Patricia Meals “Patsy” Riikola, 79, of Memphis, Tennessee passed away on Sunday, March 18, 2018. Born February 11, 1939 in Memphis, she was the daughter of the late Hubert Hall Meals and Lucille Parker Meals.She is survived by her devoted husband of 50 years, Robert William “Bob” Riikola, her two loving daughters, Susan (Jay) Hines of Germantown, Tennessee and Katherine (Matt) McGee of Franklin, Tennessee; her four cherished grandchildren, Ian and Maren Hines and Meg and Pierce McGee; her brother, Bill (Marcia) Meals; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Nancy Meals Morris.Patsy graduated from Memphis Technical High School and attended Memphis State University. She worked for years at the Memphis Board of Education before becoming a wife and homemaker. Known for her sweet tea and fruitcake cookies, Patsy enjoyed crossword puzzles, bowling, reading mystery novels, traveling with Bob, and most of all, spending time with her family.Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, March 21 and funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. with a reception to follow, Thursday, March 22 at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery.
