Patricia M. Orban's Obituary
Patricia “Patty” M. Orban, age 85, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at her home, surrounded by loved ones. Patricia was born October 29th, 1932, in Memphis, Tennessee. She was the only daughter of Clarence E. Moore and Amy W. Moore and twin sister to Kenneth W. Moore.While growing up on Patterson Street, Patty was an active member in her schools, church and community. She attended Memphis Public Schools, later graduating from the University of Memphis, where her father had been a tenured Biology professor.After spending several years as a Medical Technologist at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital, Patty met and later married the love of her life, Ray L. Orban. They exchanged their vows in the First Unitarian Church of Memphis, Tennessee, on October 24th, 1959 and made their first home in Covington, Tennessee.They soon moved to the Philadelphia area where they purchased their first home in Horsham, Pennsylvania and later started a family, raising both a son and daughter. After nearly twenty years in Horsham, they relocated to Quincy, Illinois where they resided for the next 35 years.All throughout her life Patty had a deep love for the outdoors, music and cooking. She was deeply involved in both the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. Studied Ornithology and supported the American Audubon Society, helping on several conservation and bird banding projects. She was an accomplished pianist and shared her passion for music with her children. Her love of nature and cooking combined to inspire her to become a Master Gardener and later attend Le Cordon Bleu, Paris.Patricia is survived by her husband Ray L. Orban, two brothers Stuart G. Moore and Kenneth W. Moore. Her children, Neville (Carmen) Orban and Nadia (Erik) Kambarian and grandchildren Brandon, Shay, Alyssa, Abbie, Madeline and Ian. As well as a number of other loving relatives and close friends.The family wishes to express their appreciation and deepest thanks to all of those who helped to care for Patty over the recent years and especially during her final days.Patricia has requested to be interred next to her parents and not far from her childhood home.
