Patricia Noel's Obituary
Patricia G (Pat) Noel entered her home with the Lord on October 14 at the age of 94. Pat was born in Memphis and attended Central High School and the University of Mississippi where she was a member of Kappa Delta sorority and where she met her beloved husband of 63 years, D. A. Noel. She was a past president of her local garden club, a member of Coterie of Memphis, and for more than 50 years served in her United Methodist Women’s Circle. For many years she served as a “Pink Lady” at Methodist Hospital caring for the families of loved ones receiving treatment. She and her late husband were Charter Members of Christ United Methodist Church where they were active since its founding in 1955. Pat had a wonderful gift, and her special calling was lifting up those with personal trials, needs or hardships. She was a people person, always quick to reach across the room or down the church pew to give a needed word of empathy or encouragement. Those with longing or heavy hearts were drawn to her, and those friends transcended lines of age, race and economic status. Always a child, Miss Pat would light up in the presence of friends, neighbors and those to whom she gave her words of cheer and affirmation. She was the last to leave the party. And she loved nothing more than being surrounded by her loving family of 33 children, grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren and their spouses. Her surviving children and their children are, Patricia Kelsey (Richard), Sandra Clowney (Ron), Randall D. Noel (Lissa), grandchildren, D’Anne Moyes (Mike), Drew Sippel (Tracy), Curt Simmons (Robbie), Brooke McCulley (Shawn), Lauren Jones (Walt), Randall Noel and fiance’ Allison Garner The service will be held at Christ United Methodist on Monday, October 17 at 11:00AM in the Wilson Chapel with visitation to follow in the Parlor.
