Patricia Page Demetriou's Obituary
Patricia succumbed to dementia on Thursday, September 7, 2023 in Memory Care at The Village in Germantown.
Born in Memphis, TN, she was preceded in death by her, parents, Edith and Olin (Bob) Page.
She is survived by her husband, Eugene “Bud” Demetriou Jr., her daughters, Marla Frost (Ryan) and Krista Nicol (Burke), her wonderful grandchildren, Elliot and Beckett Pearce, and Kennedy and Lennon Frost.
Pat enjoyed her three younger sisters, Edie, Ruthie, and Becky during the “growing up” years of the farm in Ellendale, TN. As long as she had a fly swatter handy, that is! Her dramatic talents took her to Lambuth for her Bachelors and then Memphis State for her Masters in English. She taught Advanced English for many many years in Memphis public schools finishing at Wooddale High. She was a loving beacon to her students. Many times she and Bud would be out shopping or dining and ex-students would come up to her and hug her and tell her how much she had helped them. After retirement, she and Bud traveled, often with old friends, all around the United States and up into Canada. But the trips she enjoyed most were with her family- the beach - Florida or Alabama - many wonderful summer weeks. There is much more that could be told about this caring loving person, her reading, knitting, laughing her love of our dogs, especially Gracie and Honey.. Finally though, the last trip taken in 2012 was to France - Paris with a Seine river cruise. After returning home, she said she was tired of traveling and preparing weekly family dinners. We didn’t know why then, but on Thursday September 7, 2023, we finally knew why. You’re gone from here but never from our hearts
