Patricia Caughley's Obituary
Patricia Jones Caughley passed away on January 29, 2011 after a four year battle with breast and brain cancer. Mrs. Caughley was born on March 21, 1952 in Memphis, TN. She is survived by her spouse, Douglass N. Caughley; her daughter, Heather M. Caughley; and mother, Doris Smith, of Collierville. Preceding Patricia in death was her daughter, Lauren A. Caughley. Patricia graduated from Memphis State University and obtained her Master’s degree from the College of Saint Francis. She worked at Saint Francis Hospital in Memphis for twenty seven years before becoming a Director at Twin Cities Community hospital in Templeton, CA. She became the associate administrator for Palm Beach Gardens Memorial Hospital in FL before joining the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth Health Care System at their corporate offices in 2008. Patricia was active with cancer support groups in Palm Beach Gardens and Overland Park. She and her husband were members of Church of the Resurrection in Leawood. A visitation will be held at Memorial Park in Memphis, TN at noon on February 2, 2011, with funeral services immediately following at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in her memory to the Susan G. Komen Foundation or Cancer Action of Overland Park, KS.
