Patricia Ann Viau Orsak's Obituary
Patricia Ann Viau Orsak, daughter of Edward and Gertrude Viau, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2017, in Memphis, TN at the age of 84. Patty was born on December 16th, 1932 in Syracuse, NY. Her family later moved to Corpus Christi, TX where she graduated from W.R. Ray High School in 1951. She leaves behind the love of her life, Joseph C. Orsak, her husband of 65 years along with six children: Joseph Orsak Jr. (wife Josie) of Syracuse, NY, Fr. David Orsak of Bartlett, TN, Darlene Myers (husband Johnny) of Corpus Christi, TX, Karen Orsak (husband Tony Coulter) of Boca Raton, FL, James Orsak (wife Sonya) of Eads, TN and Patricia Posey of Memphis, TN. She also leaves behind her brother Richard Viau (wife Nancy) of Syracuse, NY and 10 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and 16 nieces and nephews. Patty was a parishioner of St. Ann Catholic Church in Bartlett, TN, where she was a Eucharist Minister and an active member of the St. Leo Guild, Altar Society, Ladies of Charity, Legion of Mary, Young At Heart, along with numerous other clubs and organizations. Patty was a world traveler having lived in Canada, Italy, Australia, and the United States. She was known for opening her arms and home to many. Patty’s hospitality and generous spirit will be greatly missed. The family of Patricia Orsak would like to express their sincere gratitude to her “Angel” PALS at Belmont Village for the friendship, care and compassion shown to her. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 16th, at St. Ann Catholic Church, Bartlett, TN, from 5-8pm with praying of the Rosary at 7:30pm. A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, March 17th, also at St. Ann Church at 10:30am, with burial immediately following at Memorial Park Cemetery, Memphis, TN. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the St. Ann-Bartlett “Raise the Roof” Fund, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital.
