Pao-Chen Gaw's Obituary
Our family sadly lost its matriarch, Pao-Chen Gaw, on February 18, 2021 at the age of 96.
She was born in Anyang, Henan, China, and immigrated to the United States in 1985. During her life, she was an active member of Grace Chinese Christian Church of Greater Memphis in Collierville, TN. She loved being around people and always had a smile on her face. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and spending quality time with her family. She could often be found playing a board game and holding the hand of one of her grandchildren or great-grandchildren.
Pao-Chen was the beloved mother of Cary Gaw (Sylvia), Lisa Chiew (Andrew), Lee Gaw, and mother-in-law of Peggy Gaw; grandmother of Steven Gaw (Yudan), Christina Gaspar (Tim), Clifford Gaw, and Frankie Gaw; great-grandmother of Ryan Gaspar, Jonathan Gaspar and Autumn Gaw, and Micah Gaw.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Hsing-Kwei Gaw and beloved son, Chinto Benjamin Gaw.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the American Diabetes Association, 1-800-Diabetes (800-342-2383) or by mail (P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA, 22116-7023).
Due to the Covid pandemic, a prayer service and celebration of life will be held at a later date.
