Pamela “Pam” Lellon Bumgardner Dawson, 76, passed away on 25 April 2023, in Houston, TX, after suffering a severe stroke, complicated with several other health issues.
Pam was born October 29, 1946, in Memphis, TN, the daughter of Lellon E. and Willie (Mills) Bumgardner. Pam graduated from Lausanne Collegiate School in Memphis, Class of 1964, and attended Memphis State University.
Pam loved the Lord, her life, her family, and her many friends. She devoted her life to being a good wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed collecting crystal glassware, miniatures, photography, genealogy, and the adventuring of yard sales. She was a member of Spring Baptist Church, Spring Texas.
She is preceded in death by her soulmate and husband of 54 years, Jere Dawson; her parents Lellon E. Bumgardner and Willie Mills Bumgardner, both of Memphis, TN; two sisters, Wanda Sample of Jackson, MS and Martha Millner of Memphis, TN.
Pam is survived by her two sons: John and his wife Kyong on Clarksville, TN, and Bryan of Sugarland, TX. She was blessed with five grandchildren: John, Shannon, Amara, Jordan and Iman; and two wonderful great grandchildren: Adien and Charlie. Pam is also survived by two sisters: Linda Bumgardner of Sedalia, CO and Marcia Mathis of Memphis, TN. Pam was loved dearly and will truly be missed by family, many extended family members, and friends. She also leaves behind her faithful dog and sidekick, Yogi.
A memorial service for family and friends to celebrate Pam’s life will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery in Memphis, Tennessee, on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at 1:00 p.m.
