Pamela Chapman Dawkins' Obituary
Pamela Chapman Dawkins, 73, of Memphis, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, January 11, in Germantown, Tennessee.
Pamela was born in Jackson, Mississippi to Cary Goodwin Chapman and Nancy Huggins Chapman on June 26, 1951. She attended the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Dentistry where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene and immediately began working as a dental hygienist. She married Charles Tate Dawkins on March 17, 1973, in Memphis, Tennessee. Throughout her career as a dental hygienist, Pamela worked for several dentists before retiring to take care of her granddaughters.
Pamela is preceded in death by her parents, Cary and Nancy Chapman, her brother, Larry Chapman, and Charles Tate Dawkins, her husband of 47 years.
Pamela is survived by her two children, Charles Christopher Dawkins and Lindsey Dawkins Collins, and their spouses, Mary Gribble Dawkins and Carey Michael Collins, all of Germantown, Tennessee. Pamela had three granddaughters, Tatelyn Collins, Bradleigh Collins, and Carlee Jane Collins.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association
Services for Mrs. Pamela will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2025 at 11:00am in the Riverside Chapel at Memorial Park Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for visitation an hour prior to the service starting at 10:00am. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
