Pallie Hamilton Brown's Obituary
Pallie Hamilton Brown went to the be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 21 after a brief illness. She was born on December 19, 1919 in McCrory, AR and was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Hadley Hamilton in 1999. In 2002 she married Dr. William Brown who predeceased her in May of 2014. She leaves her sons, Fred H. Hamilton, MD (Jan), of Collierville, TN and John J. Hamilton (Margaret), of Taos, NM; and her daughter, Jane Whitby (Marshall), of Olive Branch, MS, as well as five living grandchildren. One grandson predeceased her. She was a member of Union Avenue Baptist Church for 68 years. After raising her three children she returned to college and received her Bachelor of Arts degree Suma Cum Laude and Master of Arts degree in education from Memphis State University. After completing her education she accepted a position as the librarian at Memphis University School where she served for 20 years, until her retirement in April of 1990. She has been a resident of Kirby Pines Retirement Community since 2010. The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until her service begins at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, October 1 at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery.
